Morning Practice and Randomness!

Saturday Morning Practice
Today we ran 10 miles(16.09k). I got there late so I was way in the back but eventually caught up. I got super lost at the 6th mile mark. I made a left instead of a right. I did an extra loop, which cause me to fall behind again! I managed to get back on track but then got lost again at the 8th mile mark! Seriously need to start paying attention to the map =\ After practice me and Anna ate some awesome BBQ, HOMEGIRL TORE THAT PLATE UP!

We always use these foam rollers on our legs after practice. It looks kind of silly but it is SUPER PAINFUL!!!!!!
My mentor, Dorothy and I =)

Cheering for the last people. The map was incorrect so they ran more than what they were suppose to, I think 16 miles.

@ the Flea Market!
There's a flea market by our apartments. We didn't have anything to do so we decided to hit it up

POOL TIME!
I have the whitest legs on earth!!! I just had to go roast these babies up.
El Taquito
After hitting the pool Anna, me and two other friends headed out to El Taquito for some awesome AGUAS FRESCAS! I had an horchata, YOU CAN NEVER GO WRONG WITH HORCHATA!

Amazing Monday!

There was something about yesterday! I don't know if it was the weather, my new running shoes(which I wore all day) or the fact that I slept until 1pm... it was an awesome day overall. It's funny because I really didn't do much. I was just in a happy mood.

First, I slept until 12 pm completely missing my 9 am class. I did manage to make it to my history class which was actually interesting! After class, I headed to Anna's place. We had an a SALAD! Then we randomly decided to go get a hair cut. She went short, while I added layers to mine. I hit the gym when I got home. MY NEW SHOES ARE AMAZING!! That was about it.... today was a good day.

How was everybody's day???

CHILLY WINDY PRACTICE

Besides the chilly weather, it was SUPER WINDY! I struggled during the first half because we were running against the wind. I had a hard time breathing and had to stop frequently to catch my breath. I felt really discouraged because I was falling behind. As much as I ran, the wind was just not on my side.
7 Miles
Ran from 12th St. all the way to the Triangle! We even ran by the drag. Thank god I didn't see anybody I knew. I was looking a hot mess hahaha
It wasn't until I hit mile 4 that I began to feel really good. I just kept on running! I was able to catch up and eventually past some of the people that were way ahead of me. I know it's not a competition but I felt proud of myself for pushing through. I was lucky to finish right when it started to rain. We went for breakfast to Austin Java. The Quesadilla Breakfast was sooooooooooo good!

About to get to the aid station.
 It was cold =)
The purpose of an aid station is to provide us with water and snacks. Mentors are available in case we don't feel well and need to stop. It also ensures we are running in the right direction since we all have to past an aid station during our run.

We had specialize trainers on side to teach us about what types of injuries to look for and how to treat them. Of course they also hooked it up with a nice foot massage ;)

Recommitment Party
We had a little get together at Rob's House. Half-marathoners had to turn in some paper work for our event. It was just really nice to bond with the team, besides in practice.
