I was crying like a little baby....

On Sunday I spend the whole day watching TV! I know! I know! How lazy of me. I honestly didn't feel like doing much but I did watched the History Channel most of the time so I was being semi-productive by learning something, right?? Well anyways I was flipping through the channels and right at 4PM I randomly flipped to MSNBC. They were playing this documentary titled, "Dear Zachary." And this is where my blog begins.

From Wikipedia:
"Kuenne's close friend Andrew Bagby was murdered by Shirley Jane Turner after Bagby ended their tumultuous relationship. Shortly after she was arrested, she announced she was pregnant with Bagby's child, a boy she named Zachary. Kuenne decided to interview numerous relatives, friends, and associates of Andrew Bagby and incorporate their loving remembrances into a film that would serve as a cinematic scrapbook for the son who never knew him."

I was crying by the end of this film, like seriously bawling because of the unexpected turn of events. I felt emotionally heart broken, angry, frustrated, shocked, sad, horrified, so damn pissed!!! I was so touched by Andrew Bagby's parents who fought so hard to maintain custody of little Zachary. This was such a touching documentary. By far one of the best I've ever seen.
I'm so moved by Andrew Bagby's parents courage to tell their story of grief and struggle but also the joy of the birth of Zachary. They are truly angels! Everything you could expect from a mother, father, and grandparents. I was so angry as to why this could of happened to such amazing people. My heart was literary hurting for them and poor little Zachary.

If you get a chance to watch this film please do so, you won't regret it!!!!

You can also go to their Facebook and like, "Dear Zachary".

Plain Jane...

I feel like a total Plain Jane. My hair looks so simple and flat, I wanna do something crazy to it! I was bored at work so I decided to play with some looks. I seriously think I can pull the Lady GaGa hair don't you think? Mmmmm maybe who knows this weekend I might just walk into a salon and do something drastic to it!

The Last Lecture

Last Friday after having dinner with some friends, me and Jarrah headed out the Half-Price Book Store. I bought Randy Pausch's "The Last Lecture." I've been reading it none stop! I had already seen his lecture on YouTube but I had always wanted to read the book as well. So far I'm inspired by the strength and faith Randy kept during the last months of his life. He was well aware his days were counted and yet lived his life to the fullest. None of us really know when our time will be up but Randy Pausch has taught me to make the best out of each and every day.

Who was Randy Pausch?
Randy Pausch was a professor of Computer Science and Human Computer Interaction at Carnegie Mellon University. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on September 2006, at the age of 46. He gave a speech at Carnegie Mellon University on September 18, 2007 titled,"Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams" or best known as "The Last Lecture." His speech went viral on YouTube. He talked about his childhood dreams, lessons he learned, and from time to time gave advice. He also joked around and made people laugh.
Here are some power point slides from his speech, my favorite being "the brick wall," lesson. On his book, he talks about how his wife was his biggest "brick wall," lol.

Randy Pausch passed away on July 25th 2008, 3 months after the publication of the book, "The Last Lecture." I recommend everybody to grab a copy if you can :)

A Champion's Parade

Yesterday was our 2011 Dallas Mavericks Parade! It was so much fun and hot. But we're known for beating the HEAT so the celebration went on. My friend Jarrah drove us to the train station at 6AM, which was already getting filled with Dallas Mavs. Buying train tickets was so chaotic because you had to purchase one by one. Overall we were on the train by 6:30AM and that was already considered late! We walked around to get a good spot. At the end we didn't have much luck but we settled for a spot by 7:30AM. The parade started at 10AM but because we were almost all the way to the back, it didn't get to us until 10:30AM.
Front of the Parade
Original founder and owner of the Dallas Mavericks, Don Carter
That's my friend with the green jersey, Ramiro Luna!
The players were in different trucks along with their families :)
Mark Cuban!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOOK AT THAT TROPHY!

The German Assassin is coming!

Terry, Dirk and Jason Kidd :D

Sadly the crowd went nuts and I didn't get a good picture since my camera was shaking so much :( FAIL!
Getting home was interesting.........
We were able to squeeze in on our first try! Super tight ride all the way home ha!
We headed out to Gloria's and enjoyed some yummy Mexican Food.
Chris bought Jovani a shot of Patron to end the celebration.
Overall it was a great day! I sadly had to go back to work after this but it was all worth attending. It's nice to see Dirk be this happy, I'm glad he's finally having the time of his life because the whole city of Dallas is also very thankful.

The Night We Became Champions!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday night will go down as history as our Dallas Mavericks became the 2011 NBA Champions!!!!! I was able to watch and celebrate with my close friends. We ate, drank, danced, and drank so more all night long. The place was a little hot, well more like ALOT HOT! We were burning up, as you can see from the pictures. But it's all good because the HEAT didn't seem to bother us through the night :)
Everybody "BOO" Jarrah for not having MAVS spirit lol
Last seconds left in the game, we were ready!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND WE WONNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!! (Yes that's me)
In her defense they were splashing beer from the excitement!
About to shut it down!

Sister Bonding Time!

So I woke up by noon from partying the night before and headed out to North Park Mall with my sister. The first store we hit up was obviously the Dallas Mavericks store. It was busy, everybody getting ready for the game. We were about to pay when my sister got to the register and realize she forgot her debit at home. I offered to buy it but my check hadn't posted to my account.

With the little money that I had on my card we headed out to grab a bite at Luna De Noche. I get so excited when restaurants offer chips and salsa. This place offered 3 different type of salsa!!!! I was in heaven. I ordered pork tacos and they were so yummy!

Afterward, we grabbed some yogurt and ice cream

I love my sister!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Last Saturday was Amanda Ray's birthday party! She finally was able to kick that fake ID to the curb and party legally. She had her bash at a bar called Martini Village. The place was pretty chilled and most of my favorite twitter peeps were there. At first we weren't feeling the music, we were too hood for that hip-hop POP music. But once they started playing our shht, we were all about it!

This guy was doing his thing!  He wanted this!

Betty,"They don't call me that for no reason!" LMAO!

After the party was over we headed out to XTC! Man they sure were making it rain in there. I'm still amaze how men, even some women, would spend so much money! I'll admit it was fun watching :)

And no night can be completed without a stop to Paisanita Tacos! We only had $12 on us so we had to sacrifice drinking a coke... but the tacos made up for that!

what a great night :)
